Cessna172 PhotoA Flight Instructor Certificate will give you the ability to teach others how to fly. It is by far one of the most challenging, and rewarding training programs a Pilot will go through. Becoming a Flight Instructor requires you to master all the flight maneuvers you have have been taught so far while learning how to teach them to someone else. The Fundamentals of Instruction will teach a Flight Instructor the human factors of learning as well as how to prepare and conduct ground and flight lessons. Once you obtain your initial Flight Instructor Certificate, you will be able to teach students in single engine aircraft. Flight Instructors can obtain additional ratings to teach instrument ratings, multi-engine aircraft, as well as others.

To obtain a Flight Instructor Certificate you must complete the following steps:

  1. Be a Commercial Pilot
  2. Take a Flight Instructor Ground Courses (Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) and Flight Instructor Airplane (FIA) through home based or classroom training course (Call 936-960-1717 or visit us today to purchase!)
  3. Gain the minimum Flight Hours required by FAA Regulations (FAR 61 Subpart H)*
  4. Take and pass the Flight Instructor Ground Exams (2 required, FOI and FIA exams which require Instructor sign off to take exams)
  5. Take and pass the Flight Instructor Practical (flight) Exam (requires Instructor sign off to take exam)
